Recent Mission Trips to Arua Community Church

Over the last month, Arua Community Church has hosted three distinct mission teams. Each team came with a different purpose, yet each left a mark of improvement at Solid Rock. Wheels for the World and Father’s Heart Mobility Ministry (based out of Uganda) distributed 225 wheelchairs. Though Kathy, a member of Wheels for the World, has been on four prior trips to Uganda, she noticed that the most demand for wheelchairs was in Arua. As she recalled, locals in need were “crawling in to get a wheelchair.” Throughout their trip, Wheels for the World examined 259 people and allocated a whopping 225 wheelchairs to those that need it most. The Templeton-based medical nonprofit, His Healing Hands, examined more than 1,000 people (some at the Arua Community Church and some in nearby Arua Hills). His Healing Hands came to Arua with a group of 11 therapists, mechanics, and support persons to assist those that need it most. Lastly, The Jesus Church accompanied by pastor Jose Zayas from Portland Oregon made their way to Arua for a mission trip focused on spiritual guidance. Jose brought crowds that numbered in the thousands!
