Ugandan Government orders closures of schools due to Covid 19 surge

Writer's picture: Katy GriffinKaty Griffin

Although it seems like we've turned the corner on Covid-19 in our Country, other parts of the world are not as fortunate. On the direction of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, all schools are to close for 42 days, effective June 7th, 2021.

Covid 19 infections in Uganda are on an average daily basis at their peak, with 825 new cases reported each day, according to a Reuters analysis.

Our S1 and S2 students who recently traveled to Kompala for Secondary school will travel back; the travel preparations are still in the making.

Please join us in praying for the students, staff, and families we serve. Thank you so much for your continued support of these students in a challenging time for all of us.

Any questions, feel free to email us at katy@zozuproject.org.
